Upgrade your indoor jungle with a beautiful Japanese-style Kokedama. This unique “Moss Ball” planting style is a lovely way to propagate plants and add more vertical elements to your indoor space.

In this workshop, we’ll walk you through the basics of constructing Kokedama along with maintenance tips to keep you smiling into Spring. With a basic amount of supplies, you will leave this workshop experience with a low-light friendly, structural planting of your very own. 

Date: Saturday, March 6 - 1-3pm via Zoom call. Zoom link will be sent 24 hours before class and recording will be sent after our live call.

We are also offering local delivery within 4 miles of the studio - add this option to your cart and we will reach out to coordinate time. Kits will be ready for pickup and delivery starting March 2.

WHAT IS INCLUDED + PRICING:

  • Workshop + materials for 1 planter
    • a low-light, low-maintenance house plant appropriate for Chicago dwellers.
      • exact plants may vary from those pictured here. plant can be selected at pick up or will be selected at random for deliveries
      • select a pet-safe plant at checkout if you have curious furry roommates

    • preserved sheet moss
    • waxed thread
  • Workshop + materials for 2 plants
    • this option is intended for one attendee/screen and an extra set of materials to complete a second planter on your own
  • Workshop recording will be provided to all attendees for future reference

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

    • pre-assembled kit above
    • two containers - one for water and the other for mixing soil (in terms of size, a large mixing bowl would work or even a shoebox-sized plastic tub)
    • scissors

    MEET KASEY of Vivant Gardening:

    Kasey Bersett Eaves started growing edibles and her treasured sunflowers at age two on family farm property in Southern Illinois. She hasn't sat down since! Just kidding … Now, as owner of Vivant Gardening Services, she spends her days making gardening with edibles, natives, and pollinator plants approachable to area residents, restaurants, schools, and more. Never daunted by the task of growing in a city's unusual spaces, Kasey loves finding creative and easily maintained growing solutions for city dwellers.
