Yarn Wall Hanging Fundraiser for Dressember - Jan. 17

Regular price $55

We're crafting for a cause making modern yarn wall hangings to raise money for Dressember to help end human trafficking.

They're simple in their construction but pack a color and texture punch! We'll use our wide selection of yarn and copper pipe to create these cozy wall hangings in collaboration with Cheryl Catrini and her Dressember fundraiser. You'll make a piece completely customized to you and wall hangings also make great housewarming, shower, or baby nursery gifts.

No experience required - we will provide hands-on instruction and color scheme examples to inspire you to create your own interpretation! Share this link with your crafty friends and don't forget to bring wine, beer, or bubbly to enjoy during this BYOB class. All materials, tools, and wine glasses will be provided.

Friday, January 17 - 6:30-8:30pm at Indigo & Violet Studio - 1411 W. Irving Park Rd.

What's included (hint - it's everything but the wine):

  • 20" copper pipe (narrower than pictured here to allow for completion in class + easy transport!)
  • variety of sizes, colors, and textures of yarn
  • 50% of proceeds will be donated to Dressember in collaboration with Cheryl Catrini. Check out her fundraising page HERE even if you can't make this event
  • bring a bottle of wine or bubbly to enjoy during this BYOB workshop - glasses and corkscrews will be provided

Dressember is an advocate-based community using fashion and creativity to end human trafficking. Every December, advocates wear a dress and/or tie every day of December to raise awareness around a shocking reality - there are currently more people enslaved than ever in history. Through countless FUNdraising activities, advocates also raise money that goes entirely into grants given to anti-trafficking organizations such as IJM (International Justice Mission) and a21, which means that money goes directly toward the rescuing and rehabilitation of trafficking victims. Although December is over, advocacy and fundraising continue through January as it is National Human Trafficking Awareness Month.
