Join Tatiana Castillo while she's visiting Chicago and hosting two unique workshops at Indigo & Violet Studio!

Meet Tatiana Castillo, Colombian textile artist, embroidery tutor, and author! We're thrilled to have her teaching at the studio while she's in Chicago again this fall! If this date doesn't line up make sure to check out her September 13th date too!

In this class, participants will learn about how Boro was made in Japan and a variety of techniques to mend their clothes in a Boro method. Boro meaning ‘rags or tatters’ is the art of repairing fabric using scraps and stitching. A source of shame in Japan for many years, the fabrics are now highly prized and can fetch significant sums.

Workshop includes a variety of fabrics, sashiko needle, fabric markers, pins, and instruction handout will be included. Scroll down to see more samples of Tatiana's work and patterns!

No prior embroidery experience is required. BYOB drinks and snacks are always welcome! Share this link with friends and family and make a creative evening of it!

Saturday, September  14 - 11a-2pm at Indigo & Violet Studio - 1411 W. Irving Park Rd. Chicago, IL
