Fabric Collage with Jamie Tubbs - November 2
We're hosting Jamie Tubbs Studio at Indigo & Violet Studio for TWO workshops with the theme of Strengthen Your Creative Core. Join us for the second on Nov. 2 - Textile Collage.
While most of us have been taught to have a good work ethic and draw inside the lines, our most valuable skills as humans come from creativity. Join Jamie to foster your play ethic and strengthen your creative skills while creating fabric collage with hand-dyed and designer apparel scraps. Jamie will be sharing some of the philosophies that guide her own art practice and creative prompts you can take with you.
Saturday, November 2 - 11-1pm at Indigo & Violet Studio - 1411 W. Irving Park Rd. Chicago, IL
Here's what's included (hint: it's everything but the wine):
- hands-on instruction and inspiration to create your own fabric collages with hand-dyed and designer textiles on approx. 6"x8" paper
- guests will be encouraged to make multiple collages to play with a variety of colors, textures, and sizes
- all materials, light snacks, bottle openers, corkscrews, and wine glasses will be provided
- bring a bottle of wine or bubbly to enjoy during this BYOB workshop
Meet the Artist: Jamie Tubbs is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily in recycled textiles. Brought to this work by a love for design and a pursuit of mental health while battling postpartum depression and anxiety, Jamie started weaving large scale pieces in 2014. She sees her work as a practice of play and approaches fiber and textiles in out-of-the-box ways.
