Looking for unique accessories or handmade gift ideas?! Look no further than this tiny weaving workshop!

In this virtual workshop, we’ll create a small piece of fiber artwork and tap into the calming and mindful process of weaving. You’ll learn how to warp the loom, create a plain weave, and turn your project into a necklace, a brooch or bag pin, or a hanging decoration. You’ll have enough materials to make two weavings, one during the workshop, and one to continue your creative practice in your own time.

Saturday, July 18, 2020 - 11-1pm CST via zoom call (link will be sent approx. 24 hours ahead of class time)

Note: Studio pickup, local delivery (Chicagoland) or shipping nationwide is included in $45 project fee. Ticket sales will end on Saturday, July 11 and all kits mailed and delivery coordinated at that time. Make sure to select "pick-up" from the information section before proceeding to shipping info if you'd like that option.

What’s included in each kit:

• Two cardboard looms (2-1/4" x 3-1/4")
• Tapestry needle
• Wooden dowel with leather cord
• Large brooch/bag pin
• An assortment of cotton and rayon yarns in earth tones
• Warp thread
• Limited seats available for an intimate virtual setting

A donation of $5 from each ticket sold will benefit Breakthrough. Meet the Artist: Margaux Mays is a digital marketer and maker. She’s been creating and making wearable art since childhood and now primarily works with upcycled and reclaimed leather to create jewelry for her brand, Margaux Bijoux. She also has a passion for organizing events that bring people together and build confidence through creativity.
